KERIO VALLEY
The first missionaries in the Kerio Valley were the Mill Hill and the Kiltegan Fathers. They rooted the Christian faith by founding a small Christian community in Chesongoch. The Benedictines took over the responsibility of evangelisation among the Marakwets in 1972. For the running of the mission, a kind of base or warehouse was needed in Eldoret town.
CHRIST THE KING (SAVIOUR) CHESONGOCH PARISH
Christ the Saviour Chesongoch Parish is located in the Kerio Valley in Tot Division, about 75 kilometres away from Kabarnet – Iten main road was formerly an outstation of Nerkwo parish.
HOLY SPIRIT CHESOI PARISH
Holy Spirit Chesoi Parish is located in the Northern part of the highland plateau, in Sambirir Location, Tot Division, 100 kilometres away from Eldoret town. It was an outstation of Chesongoch since 1973.
ST. BENEDICT ARROR PARISH
St. Benedict Arror Parish is located at the Kerio Valley about 50 kilometres away from Kabarnet – Iten main road. It was started as an outstation of Chesongoch in 1973 and was established as a parish in 1974 as the third Benedictine parish.
ST. ABRAHAM ENDO PARISH
St. Abraham Endo Parish is located in the Northern part of the Kerio Valley in Tot Division. It was an outstation of Chesongoch and was established in 1985. It is considered as the example of inculturated art.
ST. MICHAEL EMBOBUT PARISH
St. Michael Embobut Parish is located in Tot Division, in the Northern part of Keiyo Marakwet District, 135 kilometres away from Eldoret town. It was started by Father Reinhard Bottner in 1974.
ST. PLACIDO KAMWOSOR PARISH
St. Placido Kamwosor Parish is located on the highland in the southern part of Keiyo district, 60 kilometres away from Eldoret and was an outstation of Mokwa parish.
ST. PAUL KABECHEI PARISH
St. Paul Kabechei Parish is located in Keiyo district within Kerio Valley and stands on a relatively high point covering the slopes of Orapko Hill was an outstation of Kamwosor parish.
