St. Gregory International Benedictine Study House, Langata in Nairobi which is directly under the Congregation of Saint Ottilien is located near the institutions of studies. It was established in 1999. Its construction was supervised by Rev. Fr. Pius Muhlbacher OSB, who was appointed as the first Rector in 2003. Very Rev. Fr. Pius immediately began plans to put up structures for the new study house building, including rooms for students, a refectory, a chapel, a library and a conference hall. The house was officially blessed and opened in 2004. To date, this study house remains important for the congregation since it accommodates about 25 students and staff from 9 different worldwide monasteries. Students study at the Consolata Institute of Philosophy, Tangaza University and the Catholic University of East Africa among others. At least every academic year, monks from Tigoni Abbey attend their studies from there. The current Rector is Very Rev. Fr. Eduard Etengu OSB.
